The Mission originally opened - as a Seamen's Mission - in 1908.
 It re-opened in its present guise in 1995 after a major
refurbishment. It is everything a modern conversion should be. The huge interior is fairly open but
still clearly divided into a number of comfortable areas. One area is set aside for non-smokers.
Another has the feel (and some of the books) of a library. But the most impressive area includes
all the stained glass windows of the original chapel and even the original pulpit.
If you are in Hull, go and visit the Mission: if only to see just
how good a modern conversion can look and feel: and while you're at it check out the beer: any new
pub to make it into CAMRA's Good Beer Guide this quickly is doing something right.
